Here is an overture in the traditional fast-slow-fast format that is accessible to younger groups. It is a celebration of an historic and beautiful area of Virginia, combining themes suggesting the many stories originating from there. It uses primarily traditional musical language, but also includes passages of harmonic depth uncommon to music of this level.
