Chopin's opus 9, no. 2 is perhaps the most familiar of his nocturnes for piano. Here it is reimagined as a creative jazz waltz. After the statement of the melody, a brief unaccompanied horns only section in harmony leads into the solo section. The sax section also has harmonized interludes in places. The solo is in the alto sax 1 part and is written with chord changes provided. There are some interesting 4-over-3 rhythmic effects and a rollicking shout chorus bringing the chart to a dynamic finale.
